For those working in disability education and employment support

An abandoned tea garden.
Children with nowhere
to go next.

In 2016 the children Aihui had raised turned sixteen, and no workplace was waiting for them. In the same hills, tea gardens had lain abandoned for more than a decade. Aihui put the two together — and the result is a tea you can taste. Drawing on years of supporting disability employment in Japan, Prourgn connects Aihui with supporters here.

Tea as the bridge — supporting the children of the stars.

Gao Quanfa founded Aihui in 2009 for his own autistic son. By 2016 those children were adults with nowhere to work — and back in his home village in Anxi, tea gardens had been left to run wild for ten years. He put the two together: the lodge is run jointly by the Xiamen Aihui Autism Rehabilitation Center and Quanzhou Tianxiangyu Ecological Agriculture, the tea company he founded with three master tea makers.

The whole tea chain sits in one place — growing, first processing, packing and selling — and the jobs that suit the people working here have been carved out of it. No fertilizer and no pesticide. Residential care, day-to-day living support and tea-culture study visits sit beside the work, so therapy, care, employment and a place in the community run as one chain rather than four separate services. Support here does not stop at eighteen.

The work itself

One pouch at a time, by their own hands.

At the center's tea studio, autistic adults weigh, fill and seal the pouches, fold the boxes and pack the cartons. Somewhere to be each morning, and work that is unmistakably theirs, has turned the job into something to be proud of.

Nobody is left to sink or swim: staff sit alongside, and every job is broken into standard, low-barrier steps, so that skill and confidence are built in order rather than assumed. Every gift box Prourgn ships is packed here — and the animal on the lid was painted here too.

About Aihui · Xiamen

A place started for one child now supports 5,000 more.

Fujian Aihui Autism Rehabilitation Center is a nonprofit therapy and education center founded in Xiamen in 2009 by Gao Quanfa, the parent of an autistic child. It now operates seven locations across Fujian province, including Xiamen, Anxi, and Yongchun, and in 2010 was recognized as one of Fujian's outstanding disability rehabilitation centers.

The 002 studio pictured here is its shopfront in Xiamen — a public-benefit store where autistic young people work, and where the tea and the handmade goods are sold.

The labels on the map are in Chinese; the seven starred sites, in six cities and counties, are Xiamen 厦门, Anxi 安溪 (two sites), Yongchun 永春, Zhouning 周宁, Changting 长汀 and Zhangzhou 漳州. Twelve services in all — children's rehabilitation, day care, inclusive and family education, vocational training and job placement, the special-education department of the Anxi tea vocational school, and the Mingxing mountain lodge.
A JAPAN CONNECTION, NEARLY 15 YEARS DEEP

Built on Japanese methods — and long-standing Japanese partners.

Aihui is not new to Japan. Its therapy draws on a Japanese framework, Japanese specialists have coached its staff for over a decade, and a Japanese company in China has already stepped in to help.

METHOD

Mental Integration Therapy

A Japanese approach founded by Dr. Kageyama (Doctor of Education, Nagoya University). It reads social development in five stages — from a self-contained world, to sharing a space, to first connections, to taking in new worlds, to sharing feelings.

SINCE 2012

Partnership with YOSHITAKA'S HOPE FUND (Japan)

A Japanese specialist team has visited twice a year since 2012, adding online support after the pandemic. The program now covers nine Aihui sites across Fujian.

2025 – 2026

Japanese experts and companies on site

A Japanese professor coached parents on World Autism Awareness Day 2025; Japanese experts gave public lectures including ABA and TEACCH in March 2026. The same month, Toyota Tsusho's Guangzhou office visited and donated supplies.

ART THAT TRAVELS

From a Xiamen art room to the Louvre.

Art is part of Aihui's therapy — and its young artists win on merit. Their work has taken gold at the international Little Maupassant Cup (2023 and 2025), been exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, won an award at a 2025 competition hosted by the German Embassy, and placed among 500+ entries in a 2023 Fujian painting and calligraphy competition.

The zodiac animal on every gift box is painted in this room, which is why no two years' boxes look alike.

What we can do together with supporters in Japan

Learning together, site to site.

Our founder, Yano, served as a director at an inclusive IT company where 72 of 113 colleagues live with disabilities. Twice a year, she visits Aihui together with Professor Miyuki Ishikawa of Nihon Fukushi University, offering on-site guidance on preparing adults for work and on what employers should keep in mind.

01

Site visits & training

Visit the center in Xiamen and Mingxing Mountain Lodge in Anxi to see the full path from therapy to employment. Tea culture workshops are also available.

02

Exchanging support methods

Staff share Japan's employment-support frameworks and on-site know-how alongside Aihui's own practices, learning from each other.

03

Exchanging children's artwork

Works by children who have won awards in painting competitions could be exhibited and exchanged with facilities and schools in Japan — we are happy to explore this with you.

04

Buying & stocking the tea

For gifts, or for sale at your facility's shop or events. Every purchase directly creates work.

Tea gifts

Tea that creates work for young people, one gift at a time.

Tieguanyin oolong, hand-picked without pesticides in Anxi, Fujian. It's packed at the tea studio and delivered in boxes featuring the children's zodiac artwork. Choose it for Lunar New Year or Mid-Autumn Festival greetings, gifts for clients, or sale at your facility. SGS-tested with no harmful substances detected; a signature tea has won gold at the regional Min Tea Cup, and the farm already exports to Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Germany.

Sample of a custom order

The gift box shown here is just one example.

It is a small box Rieko had made. Aihui can prepare gift boxes in other sizes and with other teas, or simply ship the ready-made products listed on the price page. You settle the design together with Aihui's designer, and the artwork can be painted by the members themselves — young people with autism — so the gift quietly tells the person receiving it whose work it supports. The tea inside is grown without pesticides at Aihui's own garden in Anxi, so you can serve it with confidence.

Reference prices

What the tea costs, before we talk.

All sixteen teas the producer sells, with the specification, the price in Chinese yuan, the quantity at which wholesale pricing starts and a photograph of every item. The figures are the producer's own retail list of October 2026 for the gift box shown in each photograph. Bulk orders and custom packaging are quoted separately, and prices move with quantity, packaging and the year's harvest — so they are a starting point rather than a quote, and we confirm the real figure in writing before anything is agreed.
